A Baby Shower

This project is one I’ve been looking forward to sharing for over a month! My twin sister, Ashley, and her husband Christian are due to have a baby on Christian’s birthday, which is this coming Saturday!! Christian is deployed to Afghanistan right now but thankfully just got home for 2 weeks of R&R yesterday, in time to see Ashley’s ready-to-pop bump and of course the birth of their daughter, baby #1 for them. I am beyond excited! I will be visiting her for 2-1/2 weeks in April to help out after Christian leaves for a few more months of deployment.

Since I live in TX and she lives on the east coast, I couldn’t make it out for her baby shower but wanted to be a part of it in some way! I figured I would utilize my stamping expertise and make her some really special shower invitations. Here they are:

It was fun to branch out from a standard card layout and do the tri-fold card with decorative wrap. Also, it’s a nice way for Ashley to be able to put the invitation in her baby book and have both the event details and the front decorative elements displayed without using two copies of the invite. I was inspired by a layout I found and pinned to my “inspiration” board on Pinterest. I thought the idea was unique and could be adapted to the supplies I had available and look I was trying to achieve. In my opinion, they turned out really cute!

If I had to make 40 of these again, I definitely would make a party of it and invite some of my stamping friends over for the assembly portion at least. They weren’t difficult at all, just took a lot of time to punch and adhere all the layers. There’s no way I’d sacrifice the sweet details just to save time though! I hope you’re inspired to by my creation, leave me a comment if you like what you see!
