I wanted to share a project with you that I made in August of last year with My Digital Studio, Stampin’ Up!’s digital crafting software. It was very simple to make, and it was a giant time-saver considering I had to send out a bunch of thank-you cards for his party. I’m excited for MDS 2 to be released, because it will have so many awesome new features to make my life even more simple. I’m always down for simplifying, maybe you are too! Here is the project!

I don’t know if you’ve experienced this, but being pregnant with #2 is SO different than with #1. With my first-born, my growing belly and baby preparations were always at the forefront of my mind. Perhaps because I’m chasing around an active toddler this time around, or maybe because we will be moving across the country and *hopefully* selling our first house before our second is born, but the preparations have barely begun even 24 weeks into my pregnancy. Since we’re having another boy, there’s really not that much that we need, so imagine my surprise when a couple of my sweet friends asked if they could throw me a baby shower before our departure from the great state of Texas! The least I could do was prepare to thank my guests and hostesses, which I did with these simple cards.
As I reflect on Mother’s Day, I’m strangely reminded of a somewhat mundane part of my childhood that holds so much symbolism in my life as an adult. If you were like my family–always on the go– then you know we spent a lot of time driving in the car together. Never thought much about it back then, but something about it really struck me this morning. What I realized was when my mom was driving “us kids” places, the destination wasn’t always where we would prefer to be (i.e. the zoo), and the drive wasn’t always enjoyable (i.e. through Kansas–no offense, Kansas readers!), but we always ended up exactly where we needed to be at that time to learn and to develop (i.e. school or gymnastics practice).
