Vintage + Masculine = Happy Anniversary, Handsome!

Masculine cards can be a bit of a stumper in the stamping world. Go figure since most of us stampers are ladies, who like flowers and flourishes that are somewhat unappealing to our male counterparts. But if you have a male in your life, chances are at some point you’ll have a reason to embark on the journey of creating a manly project. If you’re running short on inspiration, never fear, The Social Stamper is here!

I recently celebrated my 6th wedding anniversary to the love of my life, my “handsome pilot,” Taylor. God bless him for putting up with my stamping addiction! LOL… Of course I had to make him an anniversary card to add to his “collection,” since he’s as much of a pack rat as I am when it comes to sentimental things. He has gotten a whole range of card styles over the years, but this one I am particularly proud of. I think I pulled off a masculine feel while satisfying my love for a vintage flair! Plus I got to try out a couple new techniques and then made a video tutorial so you can try them out too. Here it is, my vintage-masculine-new-technique card :o)

Create the look

Tips: View my video tutorial to see 2 techniques I used on this card to really add a “wow” factor! Also, for the sentiment, I used the set “Petite Pairs” with a marker and my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig tool. The wording on the stamp says, “for everything you are to me.” Instead of using it this way, I colored just the word “everything” with my marker, stamped it, cleaned my stamp, colored the words “you are,” stamped and cleaned, then finally the words “to me.” It was a really easy way to personalize what I was trying to say using the supplies I had on hand! You can also play around with this technique using a compilation of words from different sets to add a lot of personality to your stamped projects. Have fun with it!
