Send Your Mom Some Love

Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday. I hope you’re not surprised by that, but if you are, there’s still time to get your mom something special! Ever since you could eat a crayon make your mom hand-made items, she has treasured them. I am confident of this because I have a 3-1/2 year old who makes me the most adorable, random projects, and each time I receive one my heart swells with joy. Why? If you could see the look of pride on his face that he made something special to surprise me with, you would totally understand. That boy is beaming with excitement and love for his mama! Today I got a paper strawberry with freshly painted dots (“seeds”), and didn’t even care that I got paint all over my hands and shirt before realizing it wasn’t quite dry. The most important thing to me was that Eli knew how special it made me feel when he gave me that special gift.

I can’t speak from experience, but I would think that the feeling of receiving something hand-made from your children never fades as they get older. The creations get more sophisticated, but the love that motivates the gesture remains the same. I hope my mom and my mother-in-law can feel that love when they each receive this card from me (hopefully on time– I chased the mailman down today because I was late putting it out in my box)!

Some of my absolute FAVE products are retiring, and I used several of them on this card. The following will only be available until June 1st, or while supplies last:

Thankfully, lots of the beautiful products I used on this card will be available for at least one more year! Here are the other products I used (I actually used some Lucky Limeade card stock for the leaves and banner, but Pear Pizzazz would be a perfect substitute!):
The background flowers that fade into the corner give some subtle visual flow to the card, don’t you think? If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, then be sure to subscribe using the button on the left. Soon I will be writing a series of articles called “Formula to Fabulous,” which is all about the design principles that take your projects to the next level. I know you’ll be able to improve your craft using my strategic design system!
Happy Mother’s Day to all my mom readers! Please comment, share, and pin– and of course purchase!– anything you see that you like so that together we can spread some stampin’ love!
Happy Stamping!
